Absolution phpBB3 Style

Absolution phpBB3 Style

31 Jan Christian 24 Comments »

It gives me great pleasure to announce my first phpBB3 Style in quite some time. :)

Absolution is a fixed width, glossy style with a unique forumlist layout. Absolution was designed to be very generic, so it can be used on all kinds of boards ranging from Business forums to Gaming Communities. It also inclues some key features such as Collapsible Categories, Simple font-size changer and accessible navigation. On top of that I have also included some small unique touches such as icons next to the Index page statistics and Custom profile field icons.

I like that style :) . It looks good, though it reminds me a little of Invision Power Board 3’s default skin :D .

    Good work!

Nice style. I have made it the default style in d8bforum.com site.

Just a question: Would it be very complicated to make it a little bit wider?

@Peter: Thanks for choosing my style as your forum’s default – I really appreciate it :) .

As for making it a little bit wider, it’s not the easiest task in the world. It requires a line of CSS to be edited (which isn’t actually so hard in itself), although there are lots of fixed-width images such as the header, the category headers, background image etc etc. These would all need to be re-sized to accommodate the new width.

In future releases of the style I plan to make it fluid width compatible, meaning you can change just one line of CSS and choose your own fixed-width – or let it be fluid so that it resizes as the window is resized.

Hope this helps, and hope people continue enjoying the style. :)

Hey there, I’m just passing through to say I have your style as default on Chatting Time, and I have been criticised because this theme is “overused” and I really don’t care, because I love this theme. I like how it’s light and easy to see/read posts and things. I got a good lol when I played with the Change Font Size and it made my forum huge and back to small again. That certainly made my night one evening. Again, congrats on the style and I look forward to seeing more from you.

Hi, love your style, and plan to make it my default as soon as I find a fix for the topfive mod on it as it does not seem to recognize it unlike other prosilver based themes.

If you have an answer, I’d love to hear it!

Ok, you are using the image set of subsilver.

Sorry for the previous post :P

Anyway thanks for this excellent style.

And another time, sorry for my possible bad English

@Ashley: Yeah I’ve heard people say it’s “overused”. Honestly there’s not a whole lot I can do about that other than to take it as a compliment. :P

@Max/Pred: If you post your support question on the phpBB.com support thread (linked in post) it will be easier for me to help you.

    Thanks

    Christian.
